Ritual (Application)
Follow these steps with calm intention for beautiful results
1. Section Hair
Divide hair into 4-6 manageable sections using clips. This ensures even coverage and makes application easier, especially for thick or long hair.
2. Apply Generously
Using your applicator brush, apply mixture from roots to tips. Work section by section, ensuring complete saturation. Don't be shy—generous application ensures even color development.
2. Apply Generously
Henna: 2-3 hrs | Indigo/Burgundy: 1.5-2 hrs
Rinsing
The gentle art of revealing your new shade with care and patience.
Rinse Thoroughly
Use lukewarm water only. Rinse until water runs clear, gently massaging to remove all paste residue.
No Shampoo
Avoid shampoo for 24-48 hours after rinsing. This allows the colour to fully oxidize and deepen.
Condition Gently
Apply a light, natural conditioner to lengths only. Avoid the scalp area to let colour settle.
First Wash + 24-Hour Colour Development
First Wash Timeline
Wait 24 hours after application before shampooing. This allows the herbal pigments to fully oxidize and bond with your hair.
Colour Development
- Henna: Deepens from orange to rich brown over 2-3 days
- Indigo: Darkens from green-tinted to true black over 24-48 hours
- Burgundy: Shifts from vibrant to muted, rich tone
First Wash + 24-Hour Colour Development
Colour Lighter Than Expected
The shade didn't turn out as deep as you wanted.
Solutions:
- Increase processing time on your next application
- Ensure paste was thick enough — watery paste = weaker colour
- Apply to clean, product-free hair
- Consider a second application after 1 week
Resistant Greys
Some grey hairs didn't fully absorb colour.
Solutions:
- Grey hair often needs longer processing (4+ hours)
- Try a two-step process: henna first, then indigo
- Apply paste more generously on grey areas
- Pre-treat with warm oil the night before
Dry Feel After Application
Hair feels rough or dry post-treatment.
Solutions:
- This is temporary — natural oils return within days
- Add coconut oil to your mix next time
- Follow up with a deep conditioning mask after 48 hours
- Avoid heat styling for the first week
